Wiki

Wikis can be very helpful when researching or collaborating data. However, the simple fact that anyone can put this information together AND edit it makes me wonder just how accurate most of these things are...

LibraryThing

Wow, LibraryThing is like a virtual bookshelf/library...you can catalog up to 200 books for free! I like the fact that I can share my library or keep it private. It was enlightening being able to view my peers' findings.

Thoughts on Library 2.0

Library 2.0 is definitely changing the library. There are so many new ways to find and share knowledge through technology. It is a bit overwhelming at first as we try to accept the changing times. It has become more appearant that customers perfer accessing the internet rather than using the catalog or approaching the Reference desk.

Overall, it is exciting but a bit disappointing in a way. Everything is being done using computers and the latest technology. It kind of makes me think what will happen to the future of libraries. The major challenge is staying abroad all these new outcomes and making efficient use of it all!

Thing 11: Tagging My (Hobby) Blog

My favorite thing to do (when I find the time) is go to the beach and relax. I love the warm weather, bright sunshine and the laid back atmosphere the beach has to offer. It's very helpful when you've been working or studying all week! I don't like coldness at all so the heat helps me to mellow out for a while.

del.icio.us

Very appealing concept…However, I have a hard time envisioning myself using this tool anytime soon. The only imaginable way I could see myself taking advantage of del.icio.us is if I was in a scenario where I used many different computers. Then, it would be useful to have all my bookmarks saved in one place. For now, I’ll have fun browsing through other bookmarks on the site (which can be fun because so far I’ve found some interesting articles, etc.).
